Data Deletion Instructions

How to request deletion

1. Email privacy@typechinese.io from the email address associated with your TypeChinese account.
2. Use the subject line "TypeChinese data deletion request." If your request relates to Facebook Login, you may use "Facebook data deletion request."
3. Include the sign-in provider you used, such as Google or Facebook, your TypeChinese username if you have one, and the account email address. You may include your provider user ID if you know it, but do not send passwords or access tokens.
4. We may ask for information needed to verify that you control the account before completing the request.

What we delete or anonymize

• Provider-derived profile data that TypeChinese received, such as provider account identifiers, email address, name, and profile image.
• TypeChinese profile information, such as username, avatar seed, preferred script, preferred input method, and onboarding status.
• Practice history and saved practice statistics associated with your TypeChinese account, where deletion is required and technically feasible.
• Guest practice sessions that have been linked to your account, where deletion is required and technically feasible.

What may be retained

Some information may not be deleted immediately or may be retained where permitted by law, including:

• Information we are required to keep for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate business purposes.
• Information stored for a limited time in backups, logs, analytics records, or security records.
• Information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it can no longer reasonably identify you.

Facebook Login and SSO provider data

If you used Facebook Login, Google Sign-In, or another SSO provider, this page may be used as TypeChinese's user data deletion instructions URL. Removing TypeChinese from your provider account may revoke future access, but it may not delete data already stored by TypeChinese. To request deletion from TypeChinese systems, follow the email instructions above.

Timing

We aim to respond to deletion requests within a reasonable period and generally within 30 days, unless a different period is required by applicable law, more information is needed to verify the request, or the request is complex.
